Verður deCode yfirtekið af Google?
Athyglin sem deCode fær erlendis vegna deCodeMe virðist vera mjög mikil. Hjá New York Times s.l. laugardag var fréttin um deCode mest lesin, skv. spjallrás um deCode á Yahoo:
"NY Times...

Á sömu spjallrás var líka lögð áhersla á að önnur félög sem hafa verið að þróa svipaðar lausnir eru ekki versluð á mörkuðum. Gefur hluthöfum í deCode forskot:
"Therefore DCGN is currently the ONLY publicly traded company for investors in this new and exciting area of personal genomics. I think this is very much in our favor right now.... "
Og síðast en ekki síst að internetrisarnir kunna að vilja komast yfir þennan hluta í starfsemi félagsins. Gott fyrir hluthafana:

OK, this is my personal opinion!
The Internet is the future that is for certain. We have witnessed that the big Internet companies have been acquiring the brilliant Internet ideas that have come along. What they all have in common is that they are all developing their own brilliant solutions, but also on the lookout for start-ups that can potentially become a success. They have all entered areas of strong competition on, i.e. finance, entertainment, music, IP communication etc. Have a look at what Google has been up to: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Goo... and Yahoo http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_acq...! , MS http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_com... ebay http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/EBay
I do not know what is next in line for these giants, but deCODEme is definitely an area that they will be looking into and when they want something badly money is not the problem. The price is difficult to calculate, but there is a lot of forward anticipation for deCODEme to become a big revenue earner for the guys who now how to market it. Look at what ebay bought skype for (2005) http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/business/4237...
